Bids for Kids 2026: A Night of Giving and Gratitude

On April 14, 2026, the Edmonton community once again showed up in a big way for Edmonton Sports Talk Bids for Kids presented by GS Construction—an unforgettable evening hosted at The Bell in Scona in support of KidSport Edmonton.

From the moment the doors opened, the energy in the room was electric. Guests mingled throughout the space, bidding on an incredible silent auction, enjoying delicious food, grabbing drinks, and sharing plenty of laughs, all while coming together to support the KidSport mission to ensure that all kids can play.

Hot Stove Highlight

One of the night’s highlights was the Edmonton Sports Talk Hot-Stove, featuring Dustin Nielson, Reid Wilkins, of Edmonton Sports Talk and special guests Gene Principe and Mark Connolly. The crowd was captivated as the panel took the stage, sharing insightful sports perspectives, behind-the-scenes stories, and plenty of lighthearted banter. Their dynamic chemistry brought the room to life, striking the perfect balance between laughs and meaningful reflection on the power of sport to bring people together and strengthen community.

           Impact in Action

Thanks to the generosity of our attendees and partners, over $47 000 (net) was raised, which will directly support 158 local KidSport kids with the cost of sport registration fees. The impact of this night is truly life-changing—getting kids off the sidelines and into the game.

These funds were made possible through:

  • 11 Corporate Partners

  • 32 Silent Auction Items

  • 50/50 draw and Prize Raffle

  • Event ticket sales

  • Cash Call

Bringing the Mission to Life

The emotional highlight of the evening came from Tom, who shared a heartfelt story about his three sons and the important role soccer has played in their lives. His words powerfully illustrated how sport can shape confidence, create opportunity, and bring families together. Tom’s story was a moving reminder of the real, lasting impact KidSport Edmonton has on local families, and why ensuring access to sport truly matters.
